Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the ArcadeCoin application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you andArcadeCoin regarding your use of the App. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you are under 13 years of age, you may not use the App. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

ArcadeCoin is a MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) arcade emulator application for Android devices. The App provides:

• Access to a catalog of classic MAME-compatible arcade game metadata (titles, cover art, metadata — not the game ROM data itself)
• Functionality to download ROM files from our content delivery infrastructure to your device for personal use
• A MAME emulation engine to run downloaded ROM files locally on your device
• A virtual controller interface replicating arcade cabinet controls
• Save state management (8 slots per game)
• An optional coin system funded by watching rewarded advertisements

The App is provided free of charge and contains no in-app purchases. The App generates revenue through advertisements displayed within the App.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on your personal Android device(s)
• Use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes

3.1 Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App
• Use the App for any commercial purpose or for any public display
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the App or our services
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or our servers
• Attempt to circumvent our authentication systems or access ROMs without authorization
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable law or regulation

4.1 ROM Ownership and Personal Use

The App provides access to ROM files for arcade games. Many of these games remain protected by copyright. The general principle recognized in many jurisdictions is:

• Making personal backup copies of software you legally own may be permitted under applicable law
• Downloading ROMs for games you do not own is generally considered copyright infringement in most jurisdictions
• The legality of ROM use varies by country and jurisdiction

By using the ROM download functionality, you represent and warrant that your use of any downloaded ROM files complies with applicable copyright laws and that you either own the original game or are otherwise authorized to use the ROM file.

4.2 App Intellectual Property

The ArcadeCoin App itself, including its design, user interface, code, graphics, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved by us.

4.3 MAME Engine

The App uses the MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) engine, which is subject to its own license. The MAME source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2). MAME is intended for archival and preservation purposes.

Third-party game titles, characters, artwork, and names referenced in the App catalog are the property of their respective owners. ArcadeCoin claims no ownership of any third-party intellectual property.

5.1 The Coin System

The App includes a virtual coin system that works as follows:

• Coins are earned by watching optional rewarded advertisements provided by Google AdMob
• Coins are virtual currency with no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, goods, or services
• Coins are stored locally on your device and are not transferable between devices or accounts
• We reserve the right to modify coin reward amounts, coin costs, and the coin system structure at any time
• Coins are lost when you uninstall the App or clear App data and will not be refunded

5.2 No In-App Purchases

ArcadeCoin does not charge for any in-app purchases. The App is entirely free to use. You will never be required to pay money to access any core functionality of the App.

5.3 Advertising

The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. By using the App, you consent to:

• Banner advertisements displayed within the App interface
• Interstitial advertisements displayed between screens at transitions
• Rewarded advertisements that you voluntarily watch to earn coins

You may not attempt to circumvent, block, or interfere with the display of advertisements in the App. Ad revenue is used to fund infrastructure costs and keep the App free for all users.

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the App in any way that violates any applicable national, federal, state, local, or international law or regulation
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security of, or decipher any transmissions to or from our servers
• Take any action that imposes, or may impose in our sole discretion, an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure
• Upload or transmit viruses, Trojan horses, worms, or other malicious code
• Use the App to simulate or emulate commercial arcade operations
• Share your download access credentials or allow others to use your anonymous session token
• Attempt to intercept or manipulate ROM delivery requests to bypass our content delivery system

We do not guarantee that the App or its associated services will be available at all times or without interruption. We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice
• Add, remove, or modify the games available in the catalog
• Change the terms under which ROM files are made available
• Update the App to fix bugs, improve performance, or add new features
• Change the reward amounts for the coin system
• Remove any ROM from the catalog at any time, for any reason, including at the request of intellectual property rights holders

We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or its services.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to our collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

• No account creation required
• No personal information is collected directly
• Firebase anonymous authentication is used for API access
• Advertising data is collected by Google AdMob per their policies
• All game data, save states, and preferences are stored locally

9.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses
• The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
• Any specific game will remain available in the catalog
• ROM files will be accurately emulated on all devices
• Your save states will be preserved across App updates

9.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARCADECOIN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF SAVE STATES, OR LOSS OF COINS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability to you for any damages shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, which, given the free nature of the App, shall be zero (USD $0.00).

9.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ArcadeCoin and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the App, including your use of ROM files in violation of applicable copyright laws.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which ArcadeCoin is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the applicable rules of a recognized arbitration body.

You waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• Any data stored locally on your device remains accessible to you, but you may not use it in connection with the App
• Provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability

You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ArcadeCoin regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

13.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. A waiver of any such right or provision will be effective only if in writing and signed by a duly authorized representative of ArcadeCoin.

13.4 Assignment

You may not assign any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

13.5 Updates to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will indicate the date of the last update at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice. Your continued use of the App after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
