Privacy Policy

ArcadeCoin ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ArcadeCoin mobile application (the "App"), a MAME arcade emulator for Android devices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.

Important: ArcadeCoin does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information directly. Our app uses Firebase for anonymous authentication only — no personal profile is created.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the App.

2.1 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, certain information is collected automatically:

• Anonymous Device Identifier: We use Firebase Authentication in anonymous mode. This generates a unique, non-personally-identifiable token that allows the App to authenticate API requests for catalog and ROM downloads. This token is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal data.
• App Usage Data: Standard diagnostic and crash reporting data may be collected by Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs and improve stability. This includes device model, OS version, and stack traces — no personal information.
• Ad Interaction Data: Google AdMob, our advertising partner, may collect advertising-related data as described in Section 4 below.

2.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Downloaded ROM Files: Game ROMs you download are stored in the App's private storage directory on your device.
• Game Library Data: Your downloaded games list, recently played history (last 10 sessions), and favorites are stored in a local Room database on your device.
• Save States: In-game save state files (up to 8 slots per game) are stored locally on your device.
• App Preferences: Your settings (display options, audio preferences, controller configuration) are stored in local DataStore.
• Coin Balance: Your current coin balance is stored locally on your device. It is not synced to any server and is lost if the App is uninstalled.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any account credentials
• Payment information (we have no in-app purchases)
• Your precise location or GPS data
• Your contact list or phone number
• Photos, videos, or microphone recordings
• Any biometric data

The information we collect is used solely for these purposes:

• Authenticating API Requests: The anonymous Firebase token is used to authenticate requests to our catalog service to retrieve game metadata and to authorize ROM downloads. This ensures only the App can access our content delivery infrastructure.
• Delivering ROM Downloads: When you request a ROM download, we use the anonymous token to verify the request and serve the file.
• Serving Advertisements: We use Google AdMob to display banner ads, interstitial ads, and rewarded ads. Ad revenue is how we fund the free service and pay for infrastructure costs.
• Crash Reporting and App Improvement: Crash reports help us identify and fix bugs to improve app stability and performance.
• Remote Configuration: We may fetch remote configuration settings (such as reward coin amounts or app settings) from our servers to adjust App behavior without requiring an update.

We do not sell your information, use it for targeted marketing campaigns, or share it with third parties for their own commercial purposes beyond what is described in this Policy.

ArcadeCoin uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is provided by Google LLC and may collect and use data as described in their own privacy policies.

4.1 Types of Ads Shown

• Banner Ads: Displayed at the bottom of the game list and game detail screens, above the navigation bar.
• Interstitial Ads: Displayed between screens when you launch a game, if an ad is available. These are managed entirely by AdMob's SDK.
• Rewarded Ads: Optional ads that you choose to watch in exchange for coins. These can only be triggered by explicitly tapping the "Watch Ad" button in the Insert Coin screen.

4.2 Data Collected by AdMob

Google AdMob may collect the following data for ad personalization and delivery:

• Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / GAID)
• Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
• Coarse location data (country/region level, derived from IP)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, completion rates)
• App usage and session data

4.3 Your Ad Choices

You can control ad personalization through your Android device settings:

• Navigate to Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device
• Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization" to receive non-personalized ads
• Reset your Advertising ID to disconnect your ad history from your device

We use several Firebase services provided by Google LLC. Here is what each service does and what data it accesses:

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use Google (Firebase, AdMob) as described above. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies and Google's data processing terms.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
• Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via a notice in the App before such a transfer.

We do not share your data with third-party advertisers, data brokers, analytics companies, or marketing platforms beyond what is described above.

• Local device data (ROMs, save states, library, preferences, coin balance) is retained on your device until you uninstall the App or manually clear its data.
• Firebase anonymous tokens are retained as long as the App is installed. Uninstalling the App deletes the token.
• Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
• Ad interaction data is retained by Google AdMob per Google's data retention policies.

To delete all App data from your device, go to Android Settings → Apps → ArcadeCoin → Storage → Clear Data, or simply uninstall the App.

ArcadeCoin is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. The App contains advertising content that may not be appropriate for children.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as possible. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@arcadecoin.app.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access and Portability: You can access your local App data at any time through your Android device's file system or App settings.
• Deletion: Clear all App data via Android Settings, or uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data. To request deletion of any server-side data associated with your anonymous token, contact us at privacy@arcadecoin.app.
• Opt-Out of Ad Personalization: Use your Android device's advertising settings (see Section 4.3).
• Opt-Out of Analytics: You may opt out of Firebase analytics collection by disabling data collection in your Android settings or by adjusting permissions in Settings → Apps → ArcadeCoin → Permissions.
• California Residents (CCPA): California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
• EU/EEA Residents (GDPR): If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. The legal basis for our processing is our legitimate interest in providing the App and complying with legal obligations.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle:

• ROM downloads are served over HTTPS with authenticated access tokens
• Anonymous Firebase tokens are stored securely by the Firebase SDK using Android Keystore
• Local database files are stored in the App's private directory, inaccessible to other apps
• We do not store payment information of any kind

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, links to the Google Play Store). These third-party services have their own privacy policies and we do not accept any responsibility for their practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website or service you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Posting a notice within the App the first time you open it after a material change

Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such changes.
